Soprano Maegan Hoogerhyde is an emerging artist and voice teacher who has performed on stages from coast-to-coast and is garnering attention for her warm tone, shimmering high notes, and strong stage presence.

​

She recently performed in scenes as Gilda (Rigoletto) and Susannah (Susannah) with Opera Atlantic, and the roles of Mimì (La bohème) and Thaïs (Thaïs) in scenes with the Manetti Shrem Opera Program at Festival Napa Valley 2025. She has also performed with Boheme Opera NJ in Il trovatore, Carmen, and Amahl and the Night Visitors, and with New Jersey Opera Theater in Norma. ​

As a soloist, Maegan appeared with the Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra at Festival Napa Valley in summer of 2025, as a soprano soloist in Theodore Dubois' The Seven Last Words of Christ with the Adelphi Orchestra in spring of 2025, with Orchestra 201, and with New Jersey Vocal Arts Collaborative.​

Her other roles include Britomarte in Vicente Martín y Soler's L’arbore di Diana with New England Conservatory Opera, First Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with New Jersey Opera Collaborative, Asteria in Handel's Tamerlano and First Conversa in Puccini's Suor Angelica with the John J. Cali School Opera department. She has done additional scene work as Servilia (La clemenza di Tito), Elvira (L’italiana in Algeri), Blondchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), and Catherine (Le mariage aux lanternes) with NEC Opera.

 

Along with performing, Maegan maintains a successful in-person and online voice studio, serving the North Jersey area.

Maegan holds a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from New England Conservatory, where she studied with soprano Karen Holvik. She received her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University, studying with Dr. Lori McCann.
